Breast Density Legislation Details
State law requires notification on a patient's mammography report if the mammogram indicates Heterogeneously Dense and Extremely Dense breast tissue. Dense breast tissue may make it more difficult to evaluate the results of a mammogram and may also be associated with an increased risk of breast cancer. Patients are encouraged to consult with their primary healthcare provider for additional screening options that may be right for the individual.
