About Muhammad Awan, MD, FACC
Muhammad Awan, MD joined The Iowa Clinic after living in both the northeast and south during his fellowship and residency. But after experiencing “Iowa nice,” he and his wife decided Des Moines would be a great place to raise their family - among friendly and hardworking Iowans. The welcoming of the staff at The Iowa Clinic plus our academically oriented cardiovascular practice is what ultimately lead him here.
His interest in cardiology stems from, not only his fascination with the heart, but the sense of satisfaction he develops while caring for and building relationships with his patients and their family.
Outside of work, Dr. Awan enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing basketball, and traveling.
