About David Groen, DPM
David Groen, DPM has been practicing at The Iowa Clinic since 2001.
Dr. Groen was injured running track at Iowa State University and sent to a Foot & Ankle Specialist – this sparked his interest in Foot & Ankle Surgery and the rest is history. The ability to change lives by allowing his patients to get more active or back to their previous levels of activity is what he loves about his practice. Being an athlete, Dr. Groen has a special interest in treating athletes and athletic injuries.
Always feeding his passion for athletics, this is Dr. Groen’s 15th year coaching varsity Track & Field. He has been an official at the Drake Relays for 28 years and is in the Drake Relays Officials Hall of Fame. He also sells inflatable high jump and pole vault pits that he designed
Dr. Groen and his wife, Amy, have four children – Stephanie works and lives in Washington D.C., Erica teaches, coaches, and lives in Arizona, Whitney is a student at Dordt College, and Justin is in high school. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering, traveling - including going on mission trips, learning new things, and seeing new sights. Everyday Dr. Groen aspires to make the world around him a better place than he found it.
