About Steven Elg, MD, PhD, FACOG, FACS
Gynecologic Oncologist, Dr. Steven Elg, specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of women with cancer of the reproductive organs. Dr. Elg is a recognized diplomate of Gynecologic Oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG). He has been practicing for over 25 years, 10 of those, right here in Des Moines area. He has authored and co-authored many articles and several book chapters on treating women with gynecologic cancers.
Prior to joining The Iowa Clinic, Dr. Elg served in the armed forces. He also worked at the Women's Institute for Specialized Health, and then was the Medical Director of Gynecologic Oncology at Memorial Hospital, both in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family, fishing, camping, and the outdoors.
